Open City Network: Open City Protocol Discovery Day

May 19 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join the Open City Network remotely for its second Discovery Day towards the Open City Protocol.

About this Event

Canada’s economic recovery will be driven in part by new national digital infrastructure. The OCN is mobilizing an all-sector working coalition to build the Open City Protocol: an open digital layer where public and private interconnect, discover and combine data, to create scalable, interoperable solutions. The OCP will build the digital public works at the heart of smart cities while supporting the recovery of Canada’s tech sector.

The OCN is holding its second Discovery Day towards the Open City Protocol at Catalyst 137 in Kitchener. These events blend cities, relevant private sector companies, upper orders of government, NGOs and civic tech to do user research and tackle key questions related to building an open source, democratically digital layer upon which public and private can build. This is a working event, where we’ll get you thinking with some opening speakers, then dive into facilitated sessions. Opening speakers include:

Andy Best, Executive Director, Open City Network (Democratic Technology and the Open City Protocol)

Kurtis McBride, Board Chair, Open City Network and CEO of Miovision (Use Cases: Practically Applying an Open City Protocol)
